University of West England

Located in the historic and port city of Bristol, The University of the West of England (UWE, Bristol) has more than 23,000 students and a 1,000-strong academic staff. The history of the Universities constituent colleges goes back as far as 1595, representing a long and well established tradition of first class education and professional training. The University has four campuses in and around the city encompassing 9 faculties and teaching some 300 degree programmes across a wide range of disciplines.

The academic advisor to ARCHWAY, David Bruce is a principal lecturer in Tourism at UWE, in the Bristol Business School. He is a Chartered Town Planner and Transport expert. He is academic advisor to the Walled Town Friendship Circle as a whole and edits the Research pages for the Circle's Website (www.tourism-research.org/wtfcResearchdb.html). He has published widely in the field of heritage tourism

Contribution to the Archway network

The University of West of England, Bristol is responsible for advising on and contributing expert input into the theme working groups, for editing the Good Practice Guides, for assisting the Lead partner Chester in the organisation of the Legacy Conference and for editing additional material there from.
